The mission of Bucks Woodturners is to promote and educate people in the art of woodturning through sharing. With this in mind, the Executive Board has set up a new format for the October 20th meeting. We will be having a series of interactive rotations of hands on demonstrations of techniques by six of our own members. The purpose of this format is threefold. 1) To help members improve and learn new techniques by trying them hands on in an informal setting and ask questions specific to their skill level. 2) It allows members to get a feel for how valuable the Hands On Workshops we offer in the Spring can be to learn new skills and entice them to sign up (or teach one). 3) It can be used as a recruiting tool.
This would be a great time to invite a friend, who may just be getting started, to see what BWT can offer them. Our intent is to do this periodically at meetings to hone and share our skill sets. Please come, bring a friend, participate and learn. We've lined up demonstrations on Coring, Turning, Airbrushing, Texturing and Pyrography, so there is something for everyone!
If there are any members you haven't seen at a meeting recently, maybe you can give them a reminder we have missed them and ask them to come by. We are all on this journey together.
See you there,
Matt Overton
P.S. For those interested in the Christmas Pollyanna, the music box movements will be available for pick up as well as the wood for the President's Challenge.
