Have you been to a HOW already? Please show us your stuff at the April meeting, it's a Show and Tell. We would also like to see what you've been up to lately- the good, bad and ugly! It's been a long time since we've had a show and tell, don't be shy!
We are also trying to raise money to build a new projection system with a first time auction. Here's some preliminary thoughts:
Bring tools, wood, artwork, or a description of services you are willing to donate and that will later be auctioned for the benefit of the club. We will gather and display the items prior to the start of the meeting and provide tags so that we can know who donated and recognize your contribution. In return for your contributions you will receive a raffle ticket, one for each item, for a chance to win a prize. We will also be auctioning the 3 pieces that Hans Weissflog made for the workshop and demonstration. Most items will be sold by "silent auction" to save time.
For certain items, especially artwork, a minimum bid will be established at the discretion of President Matt Overton and Treasurer Bil Sticker. If the minimums are not met, these items will be saved for a later auction. Those donating art work can set minimums with Matt and Bil. If these minimums are not met, the pieces will be offered back to the donors.
Feel free to bring along your well heeled friends. Everyone is welcome at our meetings. Most of our membership knows that the funds we collect from dues, workshops and the HOW program go toward paying for the following:
- High quality demonstrators and workshops
- The use of the Bucks Wood Shop
- Website and mailings
- Needed equipment donated to the Bucks Wood Shop
- Supporting students and artists interested in wood art
