New Hope Arts member artists were offered a unique opportunity for the 2014 exhibition, themed “New Hope to New York”, when applicants were curated by a Manhattan gallerist. More than ninety works were selected for this year’s juried show opening at New Hope Arts on Saturday, September 6 and running through the month of September.
The New Hope Members’ Juried Exhibition is open to all media and is critically evaluated for the finest selection of members’ work. This year’s show offers a curatorial point of view which promises to be refreshing and supports the NHArts mission to present the finest contemporary work. The curator of the show is Ellen Bradshaw, president of Pleiades Gallery, a noted SOHO institution with a 40 year history. Her selections reflect a broad range of styles, sensibilities and media, from realism to abstraction, spanning painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media and experimental work. New incentives for accepted artists was the selection of the top ten art works the curator evaluated for worthiness for presentation to the New York art scene.
Saturday, September 6 is the opening reception from 6-8 pm free to the public, coupled with the Side Tracks Gallery presentation of the 8th Annual Naked in New Hope shows in their neighboring Stockton Street gallery and in “A-Space” in the New Hope Arts building at 2 Stockton Avenue. A full evening of gallery viewing opens this Fall season in New Hope. New Hope Arts members are invited to preview from 4-6 pm
